I am having a great time lately jumping out of my usual blog visits into both new blogs and new genres. I tend toward the home and design end of the blogosphere... but I can't say those are my only interests, so I have been looking into everything from pioneering to crafting to economics... holy MAN is there ever a lot out there! I have also seen some fun things in my travels that kind of take the form of a game... for the less serious side of posting. More of that please ;)
This is from the HOO are YOU? party over at Night Owl Crafting... a great way to get to know fellow bloggers, and maybe a fun way to get to know me a bit better... These are my answers:
1. Do you make a budget and keep it, or just fly by the seat of your pants?
I have been budgeting for so long that although I don't think I do "have" a budget, I think a mini computer in my head is reserved for keeping track of everything. The day the money comes in it gets allocated "in theory" and I am very aware of what the bills etc. are likely to add up to so I don't go into shock when they come in. I don't figure it out to the penny but always try to keep something in reserve for the "what ifs" and am fully aware that just when you think you have it under control, THAT is when the "I never saw that coming" cost falls from the sky into your lap. I live pretty much paycheck to paycheck, and have been a single mom for a long time with very little financial support. I can grocery shop to within two dollars of what is in my pocket... but is that a good thing? Always round up.
2. Do you do spring cleaning and if so which month?
Suuuuure I do. I absolutely do the dishes in March... and probably in April too...
3. Are you a yard sale lover and do you have them and go to them?
I find yard sales to generally disappoint, but always stop just in case. Flea markets though, that's different. I am pretty sure that Heaven is just one giant flea market (possibly in Paris) that is always a fresh spring morning where they didn't have time to put up many posters and all the good stuff is still there... and they have juice and doughnuts.
4. What do you take when you have a headache?
Oh, this is when my stubborn Aries side comes out to tell the world that I DON'T NEED DRUGS! I get all cocky and pretend I am better than that. Then I try Tiger Balm, peppermint oil, acupressure, drink eighteen glasses of water, do some deep breathing, and attempt to take a nap. If none of that works, I take an Advil.
5. Name 3 things that you feel lucky to have in your life!
Just 3? Well, I am pretty lucky to be here... definitely that. HUGE appreciation for that! My sons are without a doubt the things I am most thankful for. I am really really lucky to be surrounded by the family and friends I have... somehow I ended up with the best ones. What I have been able to experience... not just the memories, but what I am because of what I have been lucky enough to have gone through, seen and been part of. Oh, wait... that's four? OK, well lets call that last one a part of no. 1 and say My Life, My Family and My Friends.
